Dear Friends,

 

Dukeries Live, like many independent venues, has faced some incredibly challenging times. After countless discussions and forecasts all pointing to the same outcome — restructure or retire — we knew we had to act. If we continued the way we were, it would only be a matter of time before we’d be forced to close our doors for good. None of us want to see Worksop lose its only dedicated live music venue.

We’ve therefore made the difficult decision to restructure the business in a way that protects our future. These changes will allow us to deliver bigger and better bands, create more immersive themed nights, and ensure we can withstand whatever challenges lie ahead.

Updated Pricing

For quite some time, we’ve tried to keep our prices lower than many others. Sadly, with consistently rising costs of both wholesale goods and utilities, this is no longer viable. Maintaining the same pricing structure would almost certainly lead to bankruptcy. Because of this, we’ve had to adjust our prices. Our new pricing structure is available on the image below.

Duke's Discount Loyalty Stamp Cards

We’ve introduced loyalty stamp cards to give something back to our regulars. Any qualifying drink — pints, single mixers, or double mixers — earns a stamp. Stamps are valid on purchases between 7pm and 9pm.

• Your 5th stamp gets you a free house shot (valid between 7pm and 9pm).

• Your 10th stamp gets you a free qualifying drink (valid between 7pm and 9pm).

Premium Ticketed Gigs

Each month, we host a premium ticketed gig sold through our trusted partner Event Access. Buying your tickets in advance not only saves you money — it genuinely helps us run more efficiently. Knowing how many guests to expect means we can staff correctly, reduce waste, and ensure faster service, resulting in a better experience all round. Ticket sales also help Event Access market our events more effectively, bringing in new customers and allowing us to continue growing.

Important Notice About Concealed Alcohol

We’ve seen a significant increase in people bringing their own alcohol into the Tap. This threatens the sustainability of the venue, violates our licence, and compromises public safety — which remains our top priority. Because of this, anyone found bringing concealed alcohol into the pub will be barred with no exceptions.

Looking Forward

Creating this restructuring plan has been one of the hardest processes we’ve ever faced. Every idea has been reviewed, debated, and reconsidered because this venue means so much — not just to us, but to the entire community.

We believe these changes will make us stronger, more sustainable, and better prepared for the future.
